ABOUT

“Today, as I look back on those tumultuous days of struggle and strife, I am filled with immense Godly confidence, and awe at the man of God you have become. You have weathered the storm of addiction with courage and grace, emerging on the other side as a beacon of light, strength, and inspiration to all those around you.”

From Darkness to Deliverance: My Testimony
My name is Patrick Quezada, and I am a grateful 43-year-old man, delivered from a life once mired in darkness. Born in Denver, Colorado, my closest relationship has always been with my mother, Rosemarie. As an ordained Pastor and a licensed Christian therapist, she illuminated the path of faith, weaving God’s teachings into our family life. Despite times of tough love and high expectations, her unwavering prayers are the beacon that kept me going.
Growing up, my surroundings were steeped in substance misuse and brokenness, an eating disorder, and brokenness. I was enveloped in an environment where partying with drugs and alcohol was the norm. As a teen, I began to experiment with Ouija boards and started to explore my identity amid a backdrop of confusion and rebellion. Though raised Catholic, my love for God was distant.
My teenage years struck a significant blow when my secret came out, causing my mother great distress. This fractured our spirits, and I plunged deeply into a lifestyle of self-destructive behaviors. My search for acceptance led me to places of vanity, sex, and drugs. I dropped out of college, entrenching myself further in rebellion and experimentation with darker spiritual pursuits. This detachment from God spiraled me into years of alcoholism and unhealthy relationships, seeking love and validation in all the wrong places.
In 2011, my world shattered upon learning I had contracted HIV from a partner. Pain and shame consumed me, leading me deeper into addiction. My life became a relentless cycle of using crystal meth, sex. My every move was driven by a void I couldn’t fill, sinking further into moral and physical decay.
The turning point came with a violent and deeply scarring relationship that culminated in further degradation. Homeless and tormented, my darkest days blurred with paranoia and profound depression. Fleeing a life-threatening situation, I sought refuge at my mother’s house. Despite my betrayal and poor choices, her enduring support brought me a glimmer of hope.
Victory Outreach in New Mexico marked the beginning of my redemption. Broken and helpless, I surrendered entirely to Jesus Christ and experienced an inexplicable deliverance from my addictions. The faith-based recovery program didn’t just offer sobriety; it restored my dignity and rekindled a purposeful life. Learning to pray, read the Bible, and fast reshaped my existence.
Through God’s grace, I found freedom in surrender. My newfound relationship with Christ led me to reject my old identity, embracing instead the power of His love. God softened my heart to forgive myself and to trust Him fully.
Today, I am employed, have renewed my driving privileges, and live a life of service and sobriety. With God’s guidance, I face challenges with newfound strength and hope. My journey, though imperfect, testifies to the transformative power of God’s deliverance and the profound freedom found in His unending love. My heart, once encrypted by pain, is now opened by the relationship with my Heavenly Father, who has not only rescued me but restored me.
“For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”
~ Jeremiah 29:11

“This young budding poet and my dear friend Patrick; shows great promise with his debut work! Although a longtime writer, as far as I can remember. His writing is infused with a fresh voice, raw emotion, and a willingness to explore the depths of human experience. With each line, he demonstrates a keen sense of observation, a talent for language, and a passion for telling his story. Such a remarkable ability to evoke feelings and spark connections with his readers. I eagerly anticipate seeing my friend’s growth and evolution as a poet, and I have no doubt that his pages, his lines, his words will resonate with many.”

“I have known Patrick for several years and witnessed him rising out the ashes of what would appear to be utter destruction. Through an Encrypted Heart, you will discover how Patrick is resilient as well as victorious over obstacles, shame and addiction time after time. Proverbs 24:16 tells us that a righteous man falls seven times but rises again. We know it’s not our righteousness as ours is of filthy rags. This freedom and sobriety is not possible solely on our own strength but as we surrender to the strength of the Lord Jesus and live according to the spirit instead of the destructive desires of our flesh.
Revelation 12:11 communicates that we will be overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. As you read, ‘Open My Encrypted Heart’ and Patrick’s testimony in comparison to former expressions and art expressions that Patrick is a constant overcomer! Philippians 1:6 “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. ”The Lord is constantly working on, in and through us. We are seeing the Lord take the old mess and mold him into a masterpiece.”
Pastor Chris Roche
“Patrick’s story of transformation illustrates the hope we can only find in Jesus. His poetry is raw and real, giving hope to those who are trying to discover what it means to be a man of God. In an age where people are struggling to find their true identity, especially in regards to sexuality, Patrick’s journey provides insight on the battle within.”

“I have known Patrick Quezada for nearly 4 years through the Freedom March group and events. I can say that he is truly a man that is sincere and transparent in the journey of freedom and healing in knowing him. His book, “Open My Encrypted Heart” talks about the journey with all that he has dealt with in terms of rejection, addiction, homosexuality and other forms of brokeness. He tells his story to see others get healed and set free in the same way that God has been doing in his life. Many of us have walked along with Patrick in this journey to seeing God’s redemptive and restoring work in his life in which I hope his book of his testimony will be a true blessing to you as well as you read it.”

Between the covers of “Open My Encrypted Heart,” readers discover treasures and riches from the soul of author Patrick Quezada. His spiritual life – along with untold thousands of precious women and men – is inspired by Isaiah 45: 2-3. In these biblical verses, God promises treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places. The words are sacred promises to Patrick, and to the ministry Victory Outreach. Like its founder Pastor Sonny Arguinzoni Sr, Patrick’s chains to drug and
alcohol bondages broke through the power of God. As men laid hands on and prayed in Holy Spirit power for him, Patrick surrendered homosexuality to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. The Savior’s love for Patrick unlocked his soul to true treasures and riches – a relationship with Christ Jesus, who heals broken hearts. If you’re looking for spiritual wealth, then you’ll find rich deposits of gold and silver on these pages.”

“Over my many years as a church Pastor, I have witnessed addiction destroy many loving people. ‘Open My Encrypted Heart’ is one man’s journey to find healing from the pain of addiction while holding on to God’s purposes for his life. Through his own discovery of the original meaning of the rainbow and of God’s subsequent promises to us all – Patrick Quezada’s story is a much needed encouragement for a community that has often been neglected and rejected by religion. Patrick’s heart for the LGBTQIA+ is genuine, and emulates the kind of love that Jesus gave and commanded us all to give. This book will inspire diverse and desolate souls longing to find true love and real freedom!’

“There is nothing more precious than intimacy with God. He meets us where we are and draws us with relationship—not mere religion. I witnessed some of Patrick’s best times as well as his worst. He is uncompromisingly honest. He’s never failed to return to intimacy with God—no matter how many times he ran away because of past hurts. Patrick is an example of resilience and perseverance. God wants him to share all He’s done for him. I am grateful to have overcome the enemy by God’s grace. I’ve been blessed by Patrick’s testimony and creativity. I believe you will find hope and inspiration within.”

“Patrick Quezada fervently recounts his personal journey, delving into past missteps and obstacles, life devoid of God, and the profound metamorphosis that arose from embracing God’s unconditional love, pursuing His presence, and uncovering his identity in Him.”

“When my wife, Barbara, and I were approached to write this endorsement, I felt greatly honored, as I truly believe Patrick’s story will inspire and bring hope to those struggling with addiction and a desire to be free from homosexuality. As a senior Pastor of Victory Outreach Albuquerque for over 33 years, I have seen countless miracles, transformations, recovery, and I’ve heard so many inspiring stories from all over the world. Patrick’s transformation was something so special and I knew there was a special anointing on him from the start.
We met Patrick, a then addict, as he entered our ministries’ men’s recovery center called Victory Home in Albuquerque, NM in 2016. During his stay in our recovery home, he disclosed that he had also been involved in homosexuality, which is something he passionately desired to be set free from. We remember a conversation when he said that he believed God called him to help bring people out of the lifestyle.”
After seeing his journey and the amazing transformation that has taken place in his life, we believe that it is time that he shares his story with the world. His testimony in his book, ‘Open My Encrypted Heart’ can help so many people. Scripture tells us: He who the Son sets free, is free indeed.” We truly believe in Patrick’s story – we believe you will be inspired and blessed. It is a prime example of just how powerful the Gospel of Jesus Christ is!”
